Simon Delahunty-Forrest has been confirmed as the second speaker for the Quarterly Business Report launch event on 18 July at Birmingham City University.

Alongside Ed Grigg of IncorporateWear, Simon (pictured) will deliver a presentation on the 2040 Future City Plan and how it builds upon the legacy of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Simon is the assistant director for Development within the Planning and Development service area for Birmingham City Council. As a qualified architect Simon is also Birmingham City Council's lead design advisor, championing design quality within the built environment.

He is currently leading on Birmingham City Council 's 'Our Future City Central Birmingham 2040 Framework '. The framework sets a strategic vision for central Birmingham to 2040 to create a fair, inclusive, and green place that benefits all Birmingham communities, and provides a strategy to address the challenges the city faces and unlock opportunities for all.

Simon is also listed in the Birmingham Central University 'Sphere of Influence ' the 50 top influencers within the architecture and development sector to graduate from the Birmingham School of Architecture.

Now a well-established feature in the local business calendar, these high-quality events attract a senior level audience of around 60 people for networking, discussion and intelligence sharing.

As the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce flagship economic publication, it is the most comprehensive regular report of its kind in the city-region.

Underpinning the report is data gathered from quarterly surveys completed by businesses from across the Greater Birmingham area.

Raj Kandola, director of external affairs at the GBCC, said: “We are delighted that Simon is joining us for our latest Quarterly Business Report launch event.

“The Future City Plan is a landmark framework which will fundamentally transform our city 's landscape.

“It will be great to hear from Simon what this plan will mean for businesses and the wider economic benefits it can bring to the city and the region as a whole. ”

The Quarterly Business Report event is delivered in partnership with Chamber patron Birmingham City University. Delegates in attendance will have the opportunity to receive a copy of the report and watch a detailed presentation of the results and wider trends, followed by keynote talks on the legacy of the Commonwealth Games, and finally ending with an audience Q&A session.
