Kids’ Village, the UK’s first holiday village exclusively for critically ill children and their families to enjoy a free-of-charge respite break, has welcomed broadcaster Ed James to its board of trustees.

Ed (pictured) has been a staple on the West Midlands airwaves for over 25 years and currently hosts the mid-morning show on BBC WM, weekdays from 10am to 2pm.

Beyond broadcasting, Ed is a founding partner of Lunar, a global performance content marketing and brand agency that forms part of Group X.

Ed is also a Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands and a well-known figure on the regional business scene.

He joins Kids’ Village as the charity continues its capital campaign to raise the funds needed to build the holiday village and offer free-of-charge breaks to critically ill children and their families.

Set on a 30-acre site in Wychnor, near Lichfield, Kids’ Village is now able to offer site visits to individuals or businesses interested in supporting the transformational project.

Doug Wright MBE DL, chairman of Kids’ Village, said: “We’re delighted to have Ed on board.

“His energy and enthusiasm are infectious and Ed will be a great addition to our Kids’ Village Trustee team as we take the next step in building this very special holiday village here in the West Midlands.”

Ed added: “Firstly, I’m a dad of three which is the most important role I have and I’m passionate about ensuring that all kids have access to the best possible childhood.

“I’m very proud to be joining the Kids’ Village Trustee team and I can’t wait to help make this amazing project come to life.”
