Kids' Village selected as charity partner for Lichfield run
Kids’ Village charity has been selected as the official charity partner of the Lichfield 10km and Fun Run, which is taking place on 8 September 2024.
Organised by the Lichfield Running Club, the 10km race starts and finishes in Lichfield’s Beacon Park.
The 2km fun run takes place on the same day within the boundary of Beacon Park, offering children or those who don’t fancy the full 10km course a fun alternative.
Paul Faulkner, interim CEO of Kids’ Village said: “We are delighted that Kids’ Village has been chosen to be the official charity partner of this year’s Lichfield 10km and Fun Run races.
"The Kids’ Village site is located just a few miles outside of Lichfield, and, when completed, will be the first holiday village in the UK offering critically ill children and their families free respite breaks, with up to 5,000 people a year expected to stay at the Village.
"This partnership with Lichfield Running Club will help us to raise awareness of Kids’ Village in the area and also support our efforts to raise the £5million we need to complete the Village.
"It promises to be a fun day and a great race and we’d encourage people to stretch their legs and sign up at the website.
"Kids’ Village is all about giving poorly children a magical experience and we hope that many of those who are running on the day will choose to run for Kids’ Village.”
