Last chance to apply for Staffordshire Tourism Awards

This Friday is the final chance to apply for the 2021-22 Staffordshire Tourism & Good Food Awards and be named as the best Staffordshire attractions, accommodation providers, and food and drink businesses.

Following a challenging 18 months and having worked harder than ever to bring visitors into the county and give them a great experience, businesses have the chance to be recognised for all they have done to put Staffordshire on the map.

The Tourism & Good Food competition is one of 22 affiliated to VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022 and the only route to the national stage for Staffordshire businesses.

The competition is open to any tourism, hospitality and leisure business in Staffordshire and free to enter for fee-paying Members of Destination Staffordshire.

There is £100 + VAT entry fee for Non-members (or businesses which have applied for free basic membership).

The awards are also the only route to the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence - a chance to be named the best in the country!

There are 18 categories to choose from, with some specific to sector and others open to all types of business.

These include:

Accommodation categories

  • B&B / Guest House of the Year
  • Small Hotel of the Year
  • Large Hotel of the Year
  • Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year
  • Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year

Attraction categories

  • Experience of the Year sponsored by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce
  • Small Visitor Attraction of the Year
  • Large Visitor Attraction of the Year sponsored by Insight 6

Hospitality categories

  • Pub of the Year
  • Independent Restaurant of the Year*
  • Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year*
  • Tea Room / Coffee Shop of the Year*
  • Food & Drink Retailer / Farm Shop of the Year

Cross-sector categories

  • Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award
  • Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award sponsored by SBEN
  • New Tourism Business of the Year
  • Unsung Hero Award sponsored by We Are Staffordshire
  • Resilience and Innovation Award sponsored by We Are Staffordshire

The awards deadline is 11:59pm on Friday 22 October 2021
