Last chance to have your say on future of bus travel

Businesses in Greater Birmingham have a final opportunity to have their say on the future of bus travel, with a key survey about to close.

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce is calling on businesses across the region to contribute to the West Midlands Bus Network Impact Survey.

Long-term decisions around the region’s bus network extend far beyond transportation - affecting the regional economy, the natural environment, and the well-being of every individual across the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) area.

Given the challenges of the rising cost of living, potential budget adjustments have the possibility to impact essential everyday services.

To ensure the region’s bus network isn’t affected, Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) are proactively measuring the impact of the region’s bus network in an attempt to preserve essential services in an evolving economic landscape.

This survey, being conducted by independent market research agency Savanta, on behalf of Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), provides a platform for businesses to influence the development of public transport across the region.

Raj Kandola, director of external affairs at the GBCC, said: “The region’s bus network plays a key in reducing both congestion and emissions - improving the health of local residents, whilst also ensuring that individuals can access opportunities across the region.

“Transport infrastructure is critical to unlocking the potential of the West Midlands economy.

“This survey is an opportunity for businesses to inform how that network is developed. We highly encourage businesses to participate and complete the survey, to ensure their views are represented.”
