Law firm chooses to back Solihull charities in 2025
Midlands law firm Sydney Mitchell has selected Marie Curie Solihull and Solihull Carer’s Trust as its 2025 charities of the year.
Both charities will share the total funds raised by the firm throughout 2025 from a programme of fundraising events and activities, including the flagship Sydney Mitchell Charity Ball on 10 October at the British Motor Cycle Museum, Birmingham.
Other events include a Charity Quiz, and staff activities at each of its offices in Birmingham, Solihull and Sheldon, such as dress down days, coffee mornings and cake sales.
From its Hospice on Marsh Lane, Marie Curie Solihull helps people with an illness they’re likely to die from, and the people close to them, receive specialist care and support for free.
This includes Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, heart, liver or kidney and lung disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s and advanced cancer.
Its community fundraiser (West Midlands) Ben Thomas says: “Sydney Mitchell’s generosity will ensure more people receive the end-of-life care they deserve, and that their loved ones can find comfort and support from accessing Marie Curie services.”
Karen Moores (pictured), senior partner of Sydney Mitchell, said: “Marie Curie Solihull and Solihull Carer’s Trust are both incredible local charities, providing vital support, care and resources for their local communities at what is the most difficult time of their lives, both for the patient and their family.
“The firm is honoured to be supporting them this year. I hope we will raise a significant amount of funds for both charities.”
Sydney Mitchell has supported Carers Trust Solihull charity for several years.
The organisation provides vital help and support to carers in and around Solihull who are caring for loved ones with dementia, physical or mental health issues, or learning disabilities.
