Midlands law firm Burley Law has announced a new charitable partnership with food redistribution charity FareShare Midlands.

The partnership follows an early fundraising boost from the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run.

The firm said the partnership will support FareShare Midlands’ work redistributing surplus food to vulnerable communities across the region, with staff already helping to raise funds through participation in the Birmingham running even

Burley Law has announced a new charitable partnership with FareShare Midlands after already making a strong start to its initial fundraising target following the AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run.

The specialist UK law firm, which provides legal advice in Employment Law and Intellectual Property, has already raised £884 after team member Isha Kumar (pictured) completed the Birmingham 10K earlier this year - putting the company within touching distance of its original £1,000 annual target just months into the partnership.

Now, Burley Law says it is aiming even higher, with a packed calendar of fundraising activities planned throughout the year to support FareShare Midlands’ mission to tackle food waste, hunger and inequality across the region.

The partnership will officially launch with a charity-focused edition of the firm’s popular “Allies & Alloys” networking event in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter this June, where attendees will help raise funds through a charity raffle and community fundraising activities.

Looking ahead, Burley Law plans to host a series of fundraising events throughout the year, bringing together clients, contacts, and the wider business community to support a cause that makes a meaningful impact across the Midlands.

FareShare Midlands is the region’s largest food redistribution charity, rescuing good quality surplus food and redistributing it to 650 charities and community organisations, helping feed around 60,000 people every week.

The charity also delivers employability, training and volunteering programmes designed to help people build confidence, skills and brighter futures.

Simone Connolly, CEO of FareShare Midlands said “Partnerships like this make a real difference to the communities we support across the Midlands.

We’re incredibly grateful to Burley Law for not only raising vital funds, but for fully embracing our mission and using their platform to help raise awareness of food waste, hunger and inequality.

Their enthusiasm and commitment to supporting local people has already been fantastic to see, and we’re excited to work together over the coming year to create an even greater impact.”

Des Burley, Founder and director of Burley Law Limited said: “It’s great to be able to support the vital work that FareShare Midlands is doing for people in Birmingham and the broader Midlands region.

Rather than just providing logistics for redistributing food, which is of course vital and challenging in itself - we have grown to understand how FareShare Midlands does so much more for the community.

We are delighted to be involved and are looking forward to building on our fund-raising efforts throughout the year!”
