Leaders pay tribute to Her Majesty The Queen
Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Lichfield District Council 's leader and chief executive have expressed their sadness and offered condolences on behalf of the authority.
The leader of Lichfield District Council, Councillor Doug Pullen, said: “It is with deep sadness that we learn of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 's death.
“The Queen was a constant for this nation and indeed the world with her 70-year reign providing stability through an age of progress and change.
“While the country mourns its monarch, our thoughts are with those who lose a mother, grandmother and friend. ”
The chief executive of Lichfield District Council, Simon Fletcher, said: “The world has lost a leader, a mother and a Queen.
“I felt a deep respect and a strong allegiance to this remarkable woman who daily, throughout her life, showed the best of what Britain is. ”
