Leadership experts launch development workshop for charity leaders
Leadership specialists and authors Naomi Regan (pictured) and Lynsey Kitching are offering charity and not-for-profit leaders an opportunity to access practical leadership development for the price of a book, following the success of their first workshop in July.
The co-founders of CAPE People Development will host Beyond Small Talk: Better Conversations, Greater Impact on Thursday 12 November, from 10am to 12pm, bringing together up to 25 leaders for an interactive online workshop.
Having worked extensively with charities and not-for-profit organisations, and both serving as charity trustees themselves, Naomi and Lynsey understand the pressures facing leaders in the sector, where increasing demands, limited resources and competing priorities can mean important people conversations are often squeezed out.
Lynsey Kitching, co-founder of CAPE People Development, said: "Our first workshop in July was a real success, and we wanted to offer another opportunity for leaders to access valuable, practical development without a significant financial commitment.
“For the price of our book, participants receive a signed copy, two hours of interactive learning and tools they can immediately put into practice."
The workshop draws on CAPE's Conversation-Led Leadership methodology, explored in the founders' book Beyond Small Talk: Five Conversations that will change how you lead, published earlier this year.
Participants will explore their own leadership conversation habits, learn practical approaches to building clarity, ownership and accountability, and work through a real conversation they need to have.
One participant from the July workshop said: "The workshop made me much more intentional about the everyday conversations I have as a manager – from being more curious and helping people feel seen and connected, to giving better feedback and being clearer about expectations."
Places are limited to 25, with the workshop and resources included in the purchase of a copy of Beyond Small Talk.
