Property consultancy raises £13,000 for charity at padel tournament
Thousands of pounds have been raised for four charities at a padel tournament organised by leading property consultancy Fisher German.
Following the success of last year’s event, the firm’s development agency team hosted four regional heats, raising more than £13,000 in total.
Over 60 teams from land promoters, housebuilders and solicitors took part in the East Midlands, North Midlands and Yorkshire, West and South Midlands, and the Northwest heats.
Sixteen teams were then involved in the knockout rounds at Social Sports Society padel courts in Derby with MyPad, Ainscough Strategic Land, Banks and Breck Homes competing in the semi-finals.
The final took place between inaugural winners MyPad and Breck Homes with MyPad retaining their title with a 6-3 victory.
A total of £13,750 will be split evenly between Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity, Yorkshire Children’s Charity, Doorways Derby and Maggies.
Max Fellows, associate at Fisher German, said it had been fantastic to have even more teams involved in this year’s charity padel tournament.
He said: “When we initially discussed hosting the padel competition last year we weren’t sure how much interest there would be, but it proved to be really popular and we raised over £6,000 for four charities.
“We were amazed at the response once again this year, with even more teams entering and more than doubling the amount of money raised for charities.
“We chose charities near where each of the regional heats were hosted since having an impact in our communities is an important part of Fisher German’s culture and makes it a great place to work.
“Padel is continuing to be really popular and there were even more courts than last year to choose from when we started to book courts in different parts of the Midlands and the North for this year’s competition.
“Not only is padel a great way of keeping fit, but it was also a brilliant networking opportunity in a fun environment.
“Planning will start soon on next year’s competition when I’m sure MyPad will be determined to win the trophy once again!”
