Leading tax consultancy to sponsor ABCC Outstanding Professional Services of the Year award

A new awards sponsor has been confirmed for the upcoming Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) annual dinner and awards ceremony.

Leading tax specialists and accountants, Housman Consulting will be sponsoring the Outstanding Professional Services of the Year award at the ceremony, happening this Saturday at the ICC. The awards will be followed by an afterparty at the Malmaison.

Housman Consulting covers all aspects of Tax, VAT, Employee Compliance and Tax Planning working with Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) and large corporate businesses.

The two directors of the firm Sartaj Gill and Satnam Chumber have over 50 years of combined experience in the field.

Sartaj was with HMRC Large Business Service for seven years as a client relationship manager dealing with large corporates such as Volkswagen, British Airways and DHL working on all aspects of tax, transfer pricing, VAT and corporate governance.

He was National Lead for the implementation and development of policy and training for the new tax penalty regime in 2009.

Sartaj spent nearly 20 years in an operational role with Fraud Investigation Service (FIS) which is an elite specially trained unit within HMRC, set up to tackle the most serious and complex cases involving tax fraud and avoidance.

He was an assistant director in Offshore, Corporate and Wealthy Compliance involved in senior management, fraud policy and operational procedures, Corporate Criminal Offence (CCO) and was an accredited trainer for fraud investigators.

Satnam comes with over 35 years experience in handling accountancy matters, this includes managing his own firm as a senior partner for over 25 years, giving advice on business development, tax planning, accounts preparation and dealing with VAT compliance.

Satnam has earned a good reputation in the accounting profession while working with Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) and large corporate businesses, with a turnover of up to £200m.

He is well versed in all aspects of tax investigation work and has defended many clients in disputes with HMRC.
