Sir Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats, will speak at an exclusive event hosted by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce next week.

And businesses from across the region are being offered the chance to attend.

Sir Ed Davey (pictured) was first elected to Parliament as MP for Kingston and Surbiton in 1997.

He held this seat from 1997 to 2015, before regaining it in the 2017 election.

He has been leader of the Liberal Democrats since 2020.

This event, hosted in partnership with the Richardsons, is designed for business leaders across Greater Birmingham to hear directly from Sir Ed Davey on the Liberal Democrats’ plans to unlock growth, champion business and drive prosperity across all corners of the country.

Raj Kandola, acting deputy chief executive of the GBCC, said: “With Sir Ed having led the Liberal Democrats to a record number of MPs at the 2024 General Election, this is the perfect opportunity to engage with one of the most high-profile politicians in the UK on a range of topics including the economy, net zero, international trade, AI, devolution and security.

“The event will also offer a rare chance for regional business leaders to directly interact with a national party leader and address the challenges and opportunities on the horizon across Greater Birmingham.”

The event is taking place at a Birmingham city centre venue on Thursday 9 October – register a place now.
