Lichfield Cathedral has unveiled the winners of the 2025 Christmas Tree Festival, a cherished event that brings together local businesses, charities and schools in a dazzling festive display.

Following weeks of voting by visitors for their favourite, this year’s winners are:

Business tree: Foster for Staffordshire

Charity tree: Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide

School tree: Greenfield Primary School, Walsall

Best wreath and overall winner (most votes): Lichfield Litter Legends

This year’s festival featured 52 decorated trees and wreaths, and the addition of wreaths displayed on the historic Fenland Black Oak table proved a popular highlight. In a surprise twist, the Lichfield Litter Legends’ wreath earned the most votes overall.

Sandra Cottrell, vice-chair of the Friends of Lichfield Cathedral, said: "This much‑loved annual event enables us to raise vital funds in support of our wonderful Cathedral and simply would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the thousands of visitors who come along each year to vote for their favourite tree or wreath. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s festival such a success.”

Voting was enabled by a team of dedicated volunteers from the Friends of Lichfield Cathedral, a charity dedicated to sustaining the work and mission of Lichfield Cathedral.

The winning charities and schools will each receive a cash prize, while the winning business will receive the coveted trophy.

The Christmas Tree Festival was sponsored by Lovell and all funds raised support the Friends of Lichfield Cathedral.
