Young professionals working in businesses across Lichfield can now apply for a fully-funded 12-month membership of the Future Faces Chamber of Commerce – backed by Lichfield District Council.

The council is once again sponsoring ten Future Faces memberships for a one-year period, having sponsored two previous cohorts.

They have also taken out five memberships for their own staff.

Future Faces, the young professionals’ division of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, is a network for 18 to 35-year-olds.

Successful applicants will be able to benefit from mentoring opportunities, professional development events, networking sessions and a supportive community designed to help young professionals build confidence, develop new skills and expand their connections across a wide range of industries.

Councillor Richard Holland, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for High Street and Economic Development, said: “Lichfield District Council is delighted to continue its support for the Future Faces scheme.

"I have seen over successive years how much young employees at the council benefit from the guidance of colleagues and the confidence they gain from attending Future Faces events.

"We are again sponsoring 10 memberships for young professionals in the district and five internally. It's great to support these young people in the development of their careers."

Fiona Bell, governance officer at Lichfield District Council, said: "Having represented Lichfield District Council at Future Faces over the last year, I would encourage any young person to take the opportunity to join.

"My confidence, my skillset and pride in my work are all the better thanks to their events, training, and Young Professionals award process.

“I look forward to seeing the growth others will experience as they take on this fantastic opportunity.”

Sophie Poduval-Morrell, Future Faces manager, said: “Once again it is fantastic to see Lichfield District Council investing in the young professionals of their district.

“Over the past 12 months, young professionals from Lichfield have really seen the benefit of the opportunities that arise from these memberships, which have really helped them to flourish.”

Charlie Elliott, head of the Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce, said: “We’re delighted that Lichfield District Council is extending this partnership to offer ten more talented young professionals the opportunity to join Future Faces.

“As the region’s largest and most dynamic young professionals’ organisation, Future Faces provides opportunities to expand networks and develop the skills needed to become future leaders within our business community.

“We’re grateful to Lichfield District Council for continuing to support and invest in the next generation of professionals.”

Applications for the memberships will close on 1 July 2026 with the committee scoring period taking place between 2-10  July.
