Lichfield makes young professionals commitment
Four staff members at Lichfield District Council have joined Future Faces - the young professionals ' arm of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
And the authority has committed to funding 10 further memberships for young professionals working at businesses across the Lichfield area.
The council employees who have joined Future Faces are Katherine Harvey, Kristie Charlesworth, Chung Tse and Oliver Shaw.
Simon Fletcher, chief executive of Lichfield District Council, said: “I am delighted to see that some of our young officers at the council have joined the Future Faces network.
“We are changing the way the council operates and thinks about our services and relationship with residents and this programme offers a fantastic opportunity for our staff to gain a commercial perspective as well as developing skills, networking, mentoring and socialising.
“Lichfield District Council is equally delighted to be able to fund memberships for ten other young professionals in the area next year. ”
Future Faces exists to offer social and career development to 18 to 35-year-olds across all sectors and recognise their talent.
Members can benefit from bi-monthly events, a mentoring scheme, opportunities for training and professional development and an annual dinner and awards through the network which has more than 400 members.
Social events will be taking place across South Staffordshire alongside those in Birmingham during 2023.
Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber divisional director Chris Brewerton said: “Alongside our annual Young Professional of the Year Award at the Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth and Cannock Chase awards, we have seen various young people from the area recognised in the main Future Faces awards.
“The support of Lichfield District Council in providing these memberships is a great opportunity for businesses and their future leaders to network and grow alongside their peers. ”
