Access Bookings, a leading provider of travel management solutions for the media sector, has announced the installation of a state-of-the-art defibrillator at its offices in Lichfield.

Situated on the Access Bookings’ building at Cross Keys near Stowe Pool, the newly installed piece of equipment is located near to a highly public area and park to ensure accessibility during emergencies.

Registered on The Circuit, the national database for defibrillators, the device is easy to locate and use, offering instructions to guide users through the process.

Adam Hall, head of ESG at Access Bookings said: “We believe in giving back to the community whenever we can.

“This defibrillator is more than just a piece of equipment; it’s a lifeline in the event of an emergency and we want to provide locals with a vital resource should the worst happen to a loved one while out and about.”

The installation of the defibrillator aligns with Access Bookings’ broader mission to foster community engagement and promote health and safety initiatives.

The company extends its gratitude to AED Donate for their collaboration in bringing this project to fruition.

Rachel Richards, head of Operations at AED Donate, said: “Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any age, at any time – and access to this equipment can provide immediate care when every second counts.

“Community defibrillators are easy to use, provide simple instructions, and are designed for any layperson to operate.

“In order to achieve the best possible outcome from a sudden cardiac arrest, it is crucial to recognise the signs, call 999, and start CPR. With access to a defibrillator, we can make a difference.”

A defibrillator works by delivering a controlled electric shock to the heart, which helps to reset the heart's electrical system and allows it to regain a normal rhythm.

The defibrillators installed at Access Bookings are available 24/7 and are registered on The Circuit, meaning the ambulance service can deploy the machines without delay in a life-threatening emergency.
