A Lichfield venue is gearing up for two live music events this month.

On Friday 21 July, The Hub at St Mary 's welcomes back transatlantic band A Different Thread - a group who weave together elements of 70s folk revival, country and Appalachian blues into a timeless blend of Americana.

The band is fronted by Alicia Best from Durham, North Carolina and Robert Jackson from the Midlands of England.

The two met busking in Ireland in 2016 and have been on the road ever since, touring and creating original music together.

released their second album, Call of the Road in September last year, followed by a UK tour with double bass player, Mike Seal.

Joining A Different Thread for this gig will be their friends Farefeld and Banjo Jen.

Tickets for the show are £16.

Then, on Sunday 23 July, The Hub 's Sunday Acoustic Lounge returns.

Lichfield actor and producer Tom Roberts and musical director Gladstone Wilson are teaming up to deliver the second in a series of Sunday evening acoustic sessions, featuring classic songs and guest vocalists from across the UK, including homegrown talent.

Each Sunday session takes on a different theme and the 23 July show celebrates the Great American Songbook, featuring iconic songs from across the Atlantic from Motown to Nashville, Broadway to Vegas, a touch of Country to a pinch of Soul.

The line-up includes, Sarah Riches, currently promoting her Nashville produced album, 'I Don 't Give Up Easily ', Bea Alexandra, an actress and singer trained in classical singing who performs regularly at both classical and folk concerts across the country, and in-demand big band and jazz vocalist Helen Norgrove, who hails from Lichfield.

Tickets for the show are £12.
