Local accounting firm helps raise over £5,700 for Cancer Research UK
A Tamworth-based accounting firm has helped raise £5,727 for Cancer Research UK after stepping forward as headline sponsor for a charity ball organised by a local business networking group.
Cloud Accounting Support Services (CASS), a family-run business founded by Paul Barnes, backed the event organised by Connect Links (a small business networking group founded by Donna Reed and based in Atherstone, Warwickshire) in aid of Cancer Research UK volunteer Cheryl Barnacle.
Cheryl, who lost her husband to cancer in 2009, has since dedicated herself to raising funds for the charity and has so far raised £808,708, with her sights firmly set on reaching £1 million.
The charity ball featured a disco, magic mirror, 360 experience, auction and raffle, bringing together local businesses and members of the community for an evening that raised £5,727.12 for the cause.
Paul Barnes, founder of CASS, said: "Cheryl's dedication is just extraordinary.
“When the group decided to put on an event to support her efforts, it was an easy decision for us to get involved. We're proud to be part of a community that comes together like this."
The event is set to return on 20 March 2027. Those wishing to register their interest can contact donna@clnetworking.co.uk
