Local presenter announced as host of Solihull awards
Local presenter and host, Phil Oldershaw, has been announced as the charismatic host of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce 's awards extravaganza taking place next month.
The Solihull Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its first hybrid awards event this autumn at the Marriott Forest of Arden on 14 October.
It is expected that 200 guests will gather to celebrate the achievements of businesses and professionals from across Solihull during the ceremony.
Guests will also be able to livestream the awards ceremony as they eagerly await the results of a range of awards categories, including the Overall Business of the Year 2021.
No stranger to hosting major award ceremonies is this year 's awards host Phil Oldershaw (pictured), a local presenter/host of stage, screen, radio and online.
A familiar face of city events, corporate networking, awards and dinners, Phil has worked in Birmingham for over 30 years. In that time, he has helped develop Birmingham Pride, seen the regeneration of the city streets, and worked with local business improvement districts (BIDs), all whilst developing numerous multimillion pound businesses.
Later this year, Phil will be back on screen taking part in a Channel 4 favourite show and will be also joining the 'On Your Radio ' Solihull team as it goes live.
Phil said “I am really excited to be involved in making the Solihull Chamber Awards 2021 something special.
“It has been a phenomenal journey for many businesses over the past twelve plus months and we have had to adapt to suit business and personal needs. Therefore, hosting a hybrid awards for those having dinner, and those at home (maybe also having dinner) will show exactly how versatile the Chamber and its business members are. I wish everybody a huge amount of success and good fortune. ”
This year 's Solihull Awards are sponsored by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Touchwood Solihull.
