Logistics firm drives carbon-conscious freight forwarding with co-load van service

Logistics firm Simpex has relaunched its co-load express van service - a consolidated transport option serving 26 EU countries.

The model allows multiple customers to share space in a single vehicle, significantly reducing both cost and carbon emissions per shipment.

The move is set to reshape the way UK businesses move goods across Europe, with a renewed focus on smarter, greener freight solutions that support both commercial and environmental goals.

Managing director Simon Beechener said: “It’s about rethinking efficiency.

“Not every express export needs a dedicated vehicle. If we can consolidate freight intelligently, we cut down on unnecessary mileage, fuel use, and emissions — without compromising on speed or reliability.”

The service has also integrated with Simpex’s in-house customs clearance capability, ensuring that goods move smoothly across borders.

Working with carbon accounting platform Pledge, Simpex can provide a carbon calculation for every co-load booking, allowing businesses to see the environmental impact of their shipment in real terms.

Clients also have the option to offset emissions via accredited climate projects, adding a measurable sustainability benefit to their supply chain.

Simon continued: “We’re finding that more of our customers are being asked by their own clients about emissions data,.

“By giving them clear carbon reporting and offsetting options, we’re helping them stay ahead of that conversation.”

This service is particularly useful for SMEs, many of whom face growing pressure to demonstrate sustainable practices but lack the resources of larger competitors.

Simpex’s co-load model offers an accessible entry point into carbon-efficient transport, with all the complexity handled behind the scenes.
