The Birmingham team at logistics operator Simpex Express will be taking part in a memory walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The 5km walk, happening on Saturday, 20 September in Sutton Park is part of a national initiative raising awareness and funds to support those affected by dementia.

This cause is close to the Simpex team’s heart, with some of the team members parents affected by it.

These personal stories have inspired the team to rally behind the charity and raise vital funds to support its work.

Sarah Shemmans from Simpex Express said: "Alzheimer’s and dementia affect so many families, and we want to walk together to show support, raise awareness, and remember those we’ve lost, and those still living with it”.

“It’s only a 5k walk—nothing too daunting—but it means a lot to all of us.”

Simpex invites everyone to get involved  to join the walk or donate in support of this important cause.

In addition to fundraising for Alzheimer’s Society, Sarah is also actively involved in the Pinky Promise Dementia Group SMA (Sharing Memories Altogether)—a local support group offering social activities and a safe space for people living with dementia and their caregivers.

The group meets every second Sunday of the month in Kingshurst, Birmingham with a growing calendar of activities and new members always welcome.
