The head of finance and strategic projects of manufacturing firm Webster & Horsfall has been announced as a speaker at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce’s forthcoming Quarterly Business Report launch.

Rob Horsfall (pictured) will join NatWest’s regional accelerator director Pam Sheemar during the event on 22 October at Birmingham City University from 9am to 11am.

Alongside his role as at Webster & Horsfall Group, a family-owned Birmingham wire and wire rope manufacturer with more than 300 years of engineering heritage, Rob is also a co-founder and director of TEP Birmingham, a clean energy and innovation ecosystem developed at the group’s historic Tyseley site.

Rob has helped attract and deliver more than £100 million of investment and bring together over 20 organisations across industry, academia and the public sector.

His work focuses on collaboration, investment and the commercialisation of practical technologies that support industrial growth, business competitiveness and long-term prosperity across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

As the GBCC flagship economic publication, the Quarterly Business Report is the most comprehensive regular report of its kind in the city-region.

Underpinning the report is data gathered from quarterly surveys completed by businesses from across the Greater Birmingham area.

The Quarterly Business Report event is delivered in partnership with Chamber patron Birmingham City University.

Delegates in attendance will have the opportunity to receive a copy of the report and watch a detailed presentation of the results and wider trends, followed by an expert panel discussion on investments trends.

This panel will be chaired by Raj Kandola, deputy CEO at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.

Raj said: “Rob’s experience across business, academia and the public sector gives him a broad perspective on innovation and investment in the region, and I’m pleased he’ll be joining us for our Q3 Quarterly Business Report launch.

“His work with Webster & Horsfall Group and TEP Birmingham provides a useful insight into how businesses and institutions can work together to support industrial growth and develop new opportunities. It will be valuable to hear his perspective as we look at the challenges and opportunities facing businesses across Greater Birmingham.”
