Birmingham marketing agency Voiceboxx has embarked on an ambitious expansion plan that will see the firm adding numerous businesses to its portfolio this year, as well as doubling its team.

Now known as the VBX Group, the firm will become the umbrella brand of several new divisions, which currently includes VBX Agency, VBX Events, VBX Contracts and NewCom.

VBX Agency, headed up by new managing director, Emma Davies, will continue to provide integrated marketing services to B2B clients in the public and private sectors across the UK. Emma joined the business in 2012 as a digital specialist, becoming the agency 's Digital Director in 2016 and Strategy Director in 2018.

VBX Events, helmed by Ian Brown, will provide a national and international event solution for B2C and B2B clients. The service will specialise in venue finding, events management, production and content. Ian brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked with global brands in the UK and worldwide.

VBX Contracts, managed by Scott Bayliss, is a new commercial enterprise which provides interior drywall and fit-outs for offices across the Midlands, with a view to expanding the service into the domestic market later this year.

James Hobday, Voiceboxx 's former managing director, will now become CEO of the VBX Group and oversee each business, as well as heading up NewCon - the Group 's new research service which provides data-driven insight into consumer habits.

He said: “This expansion represents a momentous new era for the VBX Group. Since we first launched as Voiceboxx in 2011, we 've weathered various economic storms including the fallout of the last recession and of course the pandemic.

“However, we 've continued to grow at a steady pace and we 're thrilled to be in a position to start expanding into new markets. By diversifying our business across multiple sectors, we aim to future-proof VBX Group and our services for many years to come. ”

Alongside the expansion, the Group is aiming create up to 26 new jobs across the West Midlands within the next 12 months, and is currently seeking additional investment opportunities to add to its portfolio.

Each business will remain based at the Group 's current HQ in Birmingham 's Jewellery Quarter, although the Group eventually hopes to move operations into a carbon neutral building within the region.

“It 's such an exciting time to be based in the West Midlands, ” added James.

“It was always a centre of manufacturing and industrial innovation, but in recent years we 've seen the Midlands become a hub for green energy and technology like robotics and automation.

“With our new group of businesses, we hope to be in a better position to support these industries as they rise to meet today 's complex challenges. ”
