West Midlands mayor Andy Street will be setting out his aims and aspirations for the future in a special event hosted by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.

Mr Street (pictured), who became the region 's first elected mayor in 2017 and will be standing for re-election in May, is joining Chamber chief executive Paul Faulkner for the 'In Conversation ' event on Thursday 11 March.

As well as discussing the state of play of the region, the impact of Covid-19 and plans for the recovery, he will also talk about the work he has undertaken with businesses and much more.

Paul Faulkner said: “I 'm delighted that Andy Street will be joining us to look back on the last four years of his tenure as West Midlands mayor and to look ahead at the exciting prospects that lie in store for the region.

“Covid has had a devastating impact on the region and businesses will need to be at the heart of any economic recovery plan - it will be fascinating to hear from the mayor on how we can drive public and private sector collaboration in a bid to kickstart a recovery and get the region firing on all cylinders once again.

“I hope you can join us for what 's likely to be a very lively discussion around how the Mayor 's experience prior to entering office has shaped his time in it and the role the regional business community will play in forging a successful recovery beyond the crisis. ”
