Media agency joins Chamber as part of growth drive
A video, animation and livestreaming agency has become a member - which counts the likes of Jaguar Land Rover and Wolverhampton Wanderers among its clients - has joined Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
Stone 's Throw Media says it joined the Chamber as part of its drive to build business connections.
Stone 's Throw Media was launched in 2011 by founders Mike Chinn and Matt Weston after they met on a University of Wolverhampton media course.
The founders described Stone 's Throw Media as being for clients “looking to grow ” through video, animation and livestreaming events.
Staffing at the firm has grown to eight this year.
Named Micro Business of the Year at the Express & Star 's Business Awards 2018 in recognition of their success, the team have worked for a number of high-profile clients in the Greater Birmingham region including the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Stone 's Throw recorded the late night effort to transport the mechanical bull, one of the highlights of the opening ceremony at Alexander Stadium, to its Birmingham city centre display as part of a series of videos to promote the Games.
Matt Weston said: “Stone 's Throw Media are pleased to join Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce as we continue to grow as membership will allow us to network and work with like-minded businesses connected to the region. ”
Mike Chinn said: “We are very proud to fly the flag for West Midlands creative talent so it is great to join a membership group like the Chamber which promotes local strengths and encourages companies to make the most of every opportunity open to them. ”
Based at Wolverhampton Science Park, Stone 's Throw Media is among the founders of not-for-profit business group Creative Chain, which has brought on board 60 agencies and businesses to raise the profile of local talent in the creative industries.
