Midland Health, a Birmingham-based private GP practice, has relaunched ADHD, ASD and CBT Therapy services in a bid to help combat severe waiting times that patients are experiencing.

Midland Health 's private clinic in Edgbaston now offers comprehensive psychiatrist-led ADHD assessments for adults in addition to assessments for adolescents and children, plus paediatric ASD testing led by Professor Aurakzai, who has in excess of thirty years of medical experience in paediatrics.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is now also offered as a service by Midland Health, with their experienced therapist using the evidence-based therapeutic method for treating anxiety disorders, depression and trauma in adults, adolescents and children.

20 per cent more children are being treated this year than compared to before. The NHS Long Term Plan and the number of adults referred to community mental health services has increased by nearly one fifth since the start the pandemic.

Midland Health aims to help individuals to get the correct treatment, delivered by a team of trusted experts as soon as possible with appointments available 6 days a week.

Dr Rupa Parmar, private GP and medical director at Midland Health, said: “Providing specialist mental health support is a key milestone we 're very proud of. ADHD & ASD are long term conditions which can impact on all aspects of daily life. Diagnosis and treatment can make a positive impact not only on the individual, but also their families and their wider communities and we want to help do this quicker.

“At Midland Health, through CBT Therapy and consultations, we now regularly help adults, teenagers and children who are suffering from anxiety, depression, eating disorders and other mental health problems, and we want to continue to make a positive impact ”.
