Meet the Future Faces committee: Joel Blake

As part of our ‘Meet the Committee’ series, Joel Blake highlights his role in the Future Faces working group and how he helps to improve member experience.  

He explains how he makes sure members feel connected, supported and gain real value from their membership.  

 

What is your name, job title, and organisation? 

My name is Joel Blake. I am a Private Client Solicitor at Wilkes. 

 

On the Future Faces committee, which working group are you part of and why? 

Membership Engagement. I am passionate about improving member experience and ensuring individuals feel connected, supported, and able to get real value from Future Faces. 

 

What does your day-to-day role involve? 

I specialise in trusts and trust administration, wills and tax planning, probate and estate administration, and lasting powers of attorney. 

 

Why did you decide to join the committee? 

A passion for Birmingham and supporting young professionals, along with a desire to contribute to a network that helps people build meaningful careers and connections in the city. 

 

What are you most looking forward to achieving or contributing on the committee?

Growing our membership and increasing engagement across the network. 

 

What do you see as the biggest opportunity for Future Faces right now? 

Supporting the continued growth of Birmingham’s young professional population and strengthening its position as a leading city for emerging talent. 

 

What is your favourite thing about Birmingham? 

The food scene and variety of restaurants across the city. 

 

How long have you been a Future Faces member for? 

5 years.
