Number Eight Tamworth, Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce's chosen charity, have sent their heartfelt thanks to various members of the division who volunteered time to help carry out essential maintenance jobs across their properties.

The charity accommodates young mums and their new born babies, giving them a positive and supportive start in life.

Members of staff from Premium Sales Consultancy, the George Hotel Lichfield and Utility Warehouse helped paint hallways and bedrooms throughout the day, with Lichfield Design and Construction sending their team of tradesman to install internal fire doors, new guttering and repair outhouses.

Following a meeting with local supplier Travis Perkins Tamworth, all materials for the job were donated to the value of more than £1,000.

The charity's operations director Dawn Candy said: “The donation of time by various members of the Chamber is especially important when jobs are done that we as a charity don't have the opportunity or expertise to carry out and makes a real difference to the lives of our girls and their families.

“The fact that following the discussion with Stuart and Kate at Lichfield Design and Construction then led to the amazing donation by Travis Perkins really does make it all the more special and shows what community partnerships with business can bring.”

Volunteer Anthony Greenridge, general manager at the George Hotel Lichfield, said: “It was a pleasure to offer our support on the day and to meet other Chamber members and the team from Number Eight.

“As a family owned business who have operated in the district for many decades we understand the importance of community and we will certainly encourage our employees to volunteer again in the future.”

Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce presidnet Fiona Rouse, director at PI-KEM, said: “The Chamber would like to thank all those who supported the day in aid of our chosen charity.

“Having worked with Number Eight since April 2022 to help promote the charity through our newsletter, social media channels and raising money through our events we have all understood the important work they do for young families in Tamworth and at times donating your time is equally as important as money.

“We'd encourage any of our members to consider contacting Dawn Candy and her team should their employees want to volunteer to help.”
