The Future Faces theme for May is Mental Health Awareness, in line with Mental Health Awareness week taking place from Monday 13 May to Sunday 19 May.

We have some inspiring and insightful podcasts coming out this month, both focused on raising awareness for mental health and ensuring our young professionals have access to any support and help they need.

Sophie spoke to Kerrie Henry-Edge and Mike Jeffries from our chosen charity Birmingham Mind about what they are doing for Mental Health Awareness Week this year, as well as the mental health first aid courses they provide for businesses across Birmingham.

The episode will be available to listen to form Tuesday, 7 May.

Sophie also spoke to Future Faces committee member Hannah Ellis about her own brave battle with mental health, and the support she received from her family, friends and work colleagues. DISCLAIMER- this episode contains potentially upsetting topics, including cancer and eating disorders.

The episode will be available to listen to from Tuesday, 21 May.

Another big topic we will be speaking about this month is our Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards 2024. To give our applicants and potential winners some inspiration, we will be sharing testimonials from our 2023 award winners who will provide some great tips and tricks for the application process and the interview stage, as well as telling us what winning their award has done for their career.
