Over 130 people took part in Midland Mencap's annual Sutton Park Challenge on Sunday 4 October, raising £1,586 to support the charity's work with people with learning disabilities, their families and carers.

Held in the surroundings of Sutton Park, Birmingham, the event welcomed people of all ages and abilities to take on 1km, 5km and 10km challenges. From experienced runners to families and first-time participants, everyone had the opportunity to run, jog, walk or wheel their way around the course at their own pace.

One of the highlights of the day came as participants in the 1km challenge crossed the finish line, cheered on by runners preparing to take part in the 5km and 10km events.

Beyond the physical challenge, the event helps break down barriers to participation, bringing people together through sport while raising vital funds and awareness for Midland Mencap's work across the West Midlands.

The event was supported by volunteers, local businesses and partners, who helped create a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere throughout the day.

Midland Mencap campaigns for accessible and inclusive services and a better quality of life for people with learning disabilities and additional needs.

Employing more than 400 people, the charity provides a range of housing and care services, including individual tenancies for around 120 people.
