Midlands lender launches Facebook groups for networking and lending support

First Enterprise, a not-for-profit lender in the Midlands, have launched two Facebook groups with the aim of providing communal spaces for business owners to network, receive support and guidance, and access valuable financial resources.

They will also enable business owners to interact with First Enterprise’s Investment Team and receive advice on financial products and the process of applying for funding.

As a Community Development Finance Initiative (CDFI), one of First Enterprise’s core goals is to empower underrepresented and underserved businesses through much-needed access to finance.

One of their Facebook groups aims to support one of these core demographics - female entrepreneurs.

The Midlands Female Founders Hub is a space for women in business to make connections and access guidance from female experts.

Danielle Davis, deputy director of First Enterprise, said: “We wanted a way to directly engage with female business owners who might be exploring finance options.

“We understand that a lot of women can be hesitant when it comes to taking on debt. The group is a safe space to discuss issues and help women understand the benefits of using debt to boost their business.”

There is also a general group for business owners from all walks of life. The Midlands SME Growth Community helps anyone with a small-to-medium enterprise (SME) access financial support and business resources.
