Mills & Reeve breaks £200m turnover milestone as employees share £3.25m profit award
Law firm Mills & Reeve has exceeded £200 million in annual turnover for the first time, reporting record financial results for 2025/26 and rewarding employees with a £3.25 million profit share award.
The firm recorded turnover of £206.9 million for the financial year ending 2025/26, representing 13.9 per cent growth on the previous year and marking another year of record performance.
As part of its long-standing commitment to sharing success with its people, Mills & Reeve has announced an employee profit share pool of more than £3.25 million, with most employees receiving an award of at least £2,300.
The profit share is directly linked to the firm's financial performance and is complemented this year by a significant increase in discretionary performance-related bonuses across the business.
The results were achieved against a backdrop of continued economic uncertainty and geopolitical disruption, while the firm continued to make significant progress against its ambitious 2030 strategy.
Key achievements during the year included increasing international work through the M&R Global network to account for 30 per cent of total revenue, establishing a completely new C-suite, and expanding its fearless feedback client listening programme, which has now engaged with more than 5,000 clients to strengthen long-term relationships and improve client experience.
Across the Midlands, Mills & Reeve achieved a number of significant milestones while continuing to invest in its people, clients and communities.
The firm strengthened its regional team through a series of senior appointments and promotions, including the appointment of Rachael Armstrong as partner in the private client team, Fiona Teague as commercial partner, and the promotion of Sian Jackson to partner.
These appointments formed part of 34 promotions across the Midlands during the last financial year.
On 1 June 2026, the firm also promoted eight principal associates to partner nationally, including Birmingham-based corporate lawyer Hayley Simonds and insurance disputes specialist Alexa Jones.
Simon Garbett, (pictured) partner at Mills & Reeve in the Midlands, said: “These results demonstrate the strength of our strategy, the quality of our people and the trust our clients continue to place in us.
“We have continued to invest in the future of the firm while maintaining strong financial discipline and delivering outstanding service for our clients.
“Looking ahead, we remain focused on delivering our 2030 strategy through continued investment in client experience, our people, technology and market-leading sector expertise, while maintaining the collaborative culture that sets us apart.
“The Midlands team will play a vital role in delivering that ambition as we continue to support dynamic regional businesses through our leading M&A practice, award-winning health and care team, and our highly regarded commercial, education and private client teams.”
