MP learns about compliance firm 's growth

Lichfield MP Michael Fabricant has been finding out how a company based in the area is providing water and fire compliance services to a range of clients.

Mr Fabricant paid a visit to Legionella & Fire Safe, which is headquartered in Lichfield.

The firm - which counts Birmingham City Council, Wates, Equans, Fortem and the Midcounties Cooperative Group among its clients - specialises in fire protection and preventing infection from Legionnaires disease

Mr Fabricant said: “I was delighted to meet managing director Steve Morris and marketing manager Kym Darby and the team.

“The specialist company moved to Lichfield just over one year ago from their original base in Rugeley and has a multimillion-pound turnover.

“ I was pleased to hear of their incredible growth and it was great to be introduced to most of the team and learn what they do.

“Most of the employees come from our part of Staffordshire. We discussed some of the challenges facing businesses and how I can help with the Government. ”

In 2022 Legionella & Fire Safe has grown its turnover by over 75 per cent.

Between now and Christmas the firm plans to add around 20 more local employees to its field-based and office teams.

Managing director Steve Morris said: “From the inception of Legionella & Fire Safe Services in January 2017, in five and a half short years we have grown into a £5m turnover company employing over 50 local employees.

“It is our intention to work with local government and the Chamber of Commerce to source additional apprenticeship schemes to assist our rapid growth.

“We had a belief and a drive that we could do things better within our industry and provide a flexible bespoke compliance to all our clients.

“From day one we built a business where clients came first and to provide a friendly & supportive approach to legionella and fire compliance. ”
