The Midland Arts Centre (MAC) has launched a new art trail of a playful and imagination-igniting miniature world.

Created by local artists, the Amazing Artboxes trail is inspired by all kinds of fantastic ideas from secret gardens to kooky creatures and playful puppets.

Families are encouraged to collect a free illustrated trail map and explore all ArtBoxes - with a surprise gift up for grabs.

The free trail is open to the public and will last till Sunday, 21 September.

Lynsey Rutter, head of learning & participation, said: “Following the huge success of Pauline Farrar’s Celebrity Robot trail last summer, MAC is once again proud to connect people with creativity through our Amazing ArtBoxes this year.

“These miniature worlds represent the incredible artistic talent found across the West Midlands and embody MAC’s mission to make arts and culture accessible for every visitor.

“We hope people enjoy each of the wonderful Artboxes - and also feel inspired to create their own! Look out for our Family ArtBox Workshops over the summer.”

This exhibition is supported by a gift from the late Helen Mary Reynolds with thanks to Arts Council England and players of People's Postcode Lottery.
