New Brexit series event to be launched by Chamber
The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) has launched another event in The Brexit Series.
'The Brexit Series: Regulatory Divergence ' aims to inform delegates about increasing regulatory divergence across the board as a result of the UK 's departure from the European Union.
Taking place at RSM UK on Thursday 8 December, businesses of all sizes from all sectors are encouraged to attend the free breakfast event to find out how they could be affected by upcoming legislative changes.
Along with a presentation from RSM UK 's customs and international trade partner Brad Ashton on what businesses can expect in the coming months and years, delegates will hear from Kieran Laird - partner at Gowling WLG - about the latest changes to the UKCA markings system.
The event will also include opportunities to network with likeminded individuals and hear from Professor Martin Levermore MBE on how his business has adapted to the changing post-Brexit landscape.
The event is the second in The Brexit Series, a series of activity sponsored by the West Midlands Combined Authority which aims to inform local businesses about the latest Brexit-related developments.
Speaking about the event, GBCC head of policy and strategic relationships Raj Kandola said: “Increasing regulatory divergence between the UK and the European Union has been an immense issue for businesses across the country in recent years. With the Brexit Freedoms Bill making its way through Parliament as we speak, there is likely to be some significant changes on the horizon for businesses in the coming months and years.
“From financial and professional services firms to manufacturers, I would strongly encourage businesses from all sectors to attend our upcoming breakfast event to find out how they could soon be affected by changing regulatory systems. ”
