New committee appointed for Asian Business Chamber
A new executive committee was appointed at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).
The AGM was held on Wednesday, 15 March at Chamber house with the attendance of members and guests.
Omar Rashid, director and owner of The HR Dept, was appointed as the new president of the division.
Neelam Afzal, partner and employment law solicitor of Wildings Solicitors and Sapreena Kumari, executive director for admissions and student recruitment at Staffordshire University were appointed as vice presidents.

Lillian Elekan, head of head of members of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) welcomed the guests and members.
Henrietta Brealey, CEO of GBCC said: “The ABCC is a dynamic part of our Chamber family as a leading network for, and gateway to engaging with, the region 's Asian business community.
“I am delighted welcome our new committee members and Presidents team. Together with ABCC director Anjum Khan, they bring a wide range of skills, industry experience and perspectives to the leadership of this influential organisation - it 's set to be an exciting year.
“I 'd also like to thank our outgoing co-president, Amina Hussain and the committee members completing their terms this year.
“From providing free support to local SMEs during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic to championing local hospitality businesses and networking and connecting the Asian business community, they have all contributed a huge amount to this organisation 's, and local business community 's success. ”
Vice president Neelam Afzal said: “I am delighted to be appointed as of one of the two vice presidents, appointed alongside Sapreena Kumari, led by the newly appointed president, Omar Rashid.
“We have an exciting, fresh, and dynamic committee who are all acting as an ambassadors to lead the ABCC from strength to strength. Acting as the 'voice ' for businesses across the Midlands, to connect, support and grow.
“I look forward to supporting the our members over the next 12 months, from business challenges to celebrations! ”
Vice president Sapreena Kumari said: “Its an honour to be voted Vice President of ABCC and have the opportunity to support the new executive committee and members.
“ABCC have several exciting new projects to deliver over the next 12 months to broaden and innovate our offer for the membership. I am looking forward to growing ABCC alongside Omar and Neelam, as well as engaging with our communities across the region. ”
The ABCC has over 170 members while 1020 members from 230 businesses have attended ABCC events last year.
