A new president will be elected to lead the Greater Birmingham Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce at its annual general meeting next month.

The successor to fintech entrepreneur and GFA Exchange founder Joel Blake is to be announced at the AGM at Aston University on Friday 11 November.

Mr Blake (pictured) is standing down after completing his two-year term.

He was the second president of the Commonwealth Chamber, having succeeded Keith Stokes-Smith.

The event takes place just a few days after the Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce hosts its AGM.

The AGM for the transatlantic trade body takes place on Tuesday 8 November at the Birmingham office of law firm Browne Jacobson, where several new committee members will be announced to support president James Tait and vice-president Eileen Schofield.

Chris McFarlane Baxter, head of international divisions at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “This is an exciting time for both of our international divisions and we 're looking forward to welcoming some new faces who will help shape the strategy, events programme and future activities for both Chambers. ”
