A new programme of Community Learning courses has just launched, following another successful year that saw thousands of adults benefit from new skills and improved wellbeing.

Staffordshire County Council has rolled out more than 70 new courses, with classes running from January through to Easter.

Courses still open for enrolment and starting next month, include 'Running a Voluntary Community Social Enterprise Organisation', 'Awesome Animals' and 'Gardening in the Community.'

The updated programme includes everything from digital skills, English and maths to hands-on sessions such as DIY, carpentry, floristry and crafting for wellbeing.

Popular wellbeing and lifestyle courses, such as 'Cooking with Numbers' and 'Forest Bathing', are also returning.

The launch follows exceptional learner feedback, with over 99 per cent of last year’s learners saying they enjoyed their course and would recommend it to friends or family.

Martin Murray, senior commissioner for Adult Learning at Staffordshire County Council, said: “We’re delighted to open this new programme of courses for residents. Whether people want to gain qualifications, try something creative, improve their wellbeing or learn new life skills, there’s something for everyone.

“The feedback from learners in the last year has been outstanding, and we’re proud that our courses continue to help people grow in confidence, boost their employment prospects, and achieve their goals.”

Courses are delivered in community venues across Staffordshire, with many also available online. A significant number are free or low‑cost, ensuring learning remains accessible to all.

Residents can explore the full programme and contact delivery partners directly via the course directory.
