New digital radio station for Burton hits the airwaves

A new digital local radio station for Burton, Uttoxeter and the Staffordshire borders is now on air.

The DOVE is available online via doveradio.co.uk and smart speaker.

The new station features some friendly and familiar voices, including former Ashbourne Radio presenters, John Haynes, Mike Ashley and Helen Dennison, as well as playing a constant flow of music, programmes packed with local news, sport, and information.

Station Director John Haynes said, "We felt that there was a gap in the market for a radio station focusing solely on Burton, Uttoxeter and East Staffordshire, which until now has been very much underserved.

"For many of us, returning to the airwaves in the area is very much like coming home.

"We love the area, and we want those who live here to see this as their station.

"Smart speaker and online radio listening has really taken off in the past few years.

"Over the coming months, our aim is to ensure that The DOVE is the first choice for local's whether at home or work."

Sponsorship opportunities for local businesses are available, and a Go Fund Me Page has been set up for individuals to donate.
