New event series to be launched around Brexit developments
The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) will be delivering a range of events to inform local businesses about the latest Brexit-related developments.
Titled as 'The Brexit Series ', the events are commissioned by the West Midlands Combined Authority and carried out in collaboration with the Black County Chamber of Commerce and the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
The series will comprise four events from 30 November to 25 January. Each event will have a specific focus and will be led by expert speakers.
The first event will focus on people and is due to be held on 30 November. Hosted by Browne Jacobson, the event aims to provide firms with information and advice relating to people and mobility.
The Home Office will be delivering an exclusive presentation on the future of the UK 's immigration system and will provide helpful insights and answers to audience questions
The latter half of the event will be in a clinic format, with expert employment lawyers from Browne Jacobson being available to advise delegates on recruiting workers from the European Union or sending UK-based employees abroad.
Erin Henwood (Pictured), policy advisor of the GBCC said: “Given the significant impact that Brexit is still having on businesses across the region, with ongoing supply chain disruption and changes to both customs control and legislation, the launch of The Brexit Series could not be timelier.
“Recruiting workers from the European Union and sending UK-based employees abroad has changed significantly since the UK 's departure from the trading bloc.
“As such, I would encourage businesses to attend for expert support from James Tait and Bndicte Viort de La Batie from Browne Jacobson, as well as to hear an exclusive presentation from the Home Office on the future of the UK 's immigration system. ”
