A new series of guides has been published to detail the intricacies of International Remote Working legal and tax compliance in 18 of the world’s major economies.

It has been launched by CELIA Alliance, of which Abbiss Cadres LLP is a founding member.

The guide focuses on a specific country, outlining the risks of International Remote Working in each of Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China and Hong Kong, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

It follows the need for more employees to travel overseas, allowing them to work flexibly and get more fulfilment from their lives and careers.

The guides cover the significant compliance risks employers can face when employees are working for both short periods (fewer than six months) and longer durations.

These categories include income tax filing, tax and social security withholding, immigration, health and safety, employment protection and share plans and pensions.

Also included is CELIA Alliance’s useful International Remote Working Explainer, which provides a straightforward technical and practical context to ensure you have a strong understanding of what can be a daunting and complex compliance framework.
