New service to help those suffering effects of cancer
Cancer support charity, Help Harry Help Others, has unveiled a new service to help patients, relatives and carers suffering from the effects of cancer.
The charity's new Step Forward programme will look to help those affected by cancer establish what their personal goals are and access 1-1 support on a weekly basis to help them map out what needs putting into place to enable them to achieve whatever they want to do.
Service users will receive a personalised and formulated plan, which will help them keep on track towards their goals, and improve their wellbeing.
The new initiative comes on the cusp on what would have been Harry Moseley's 21st birthday next Monday, 22 February.
Harry (pictured) started selling hand-made bracelets and raising money for those suffering from brain cancer, whilst battling his own inoperable brain tumour.
Harry sadly passed away at the age of 11.
To carry on Harry's legacy, his mum Georgie Moseley set up charity Help Harry Help Others (HHHO), to help others suffering from cancer.
Initiatives such as Step Forward campaign are just one of the ways that the charity has been helping those battling cancer.
Georgie said that the new service will compliment other services offered by the charity.
She said: "We have a great team at HHHO and its great that we to date can support and react to all our clients needs, however, I wanted to create a service that pro-actively helps clients.
"Once we have supported and met our clients initial needs - whether that's through practical, financial or emotional support, we want to ensure that we support them to move forwards until they are comfortable and in a good place to use the strategies and techniques to go it alone.
"It also gives us the chance along the way to see if there is further support that is needed so that other HHHO services can intervene if relevant.
"From time to time we all need support, clarity and even a nudge to keep us moving in the right direction and achieving all we want - whatever that may be, and I am delighted that this new service will not only be delivered by Linda Baker who has supported and worked with HHHO for many years but also that it will compliment our current services and make our service offering very unique ”.
