New therapy service aims to tackle memories of distressing experiences
Purple House Clinic has launched a new intensive EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapy service, offering adults focused psychological support to accelerate recovery and promote emotional wellbeing.
The approach supports those impacted by burnout, stress, or a major life event.
By offering intensive EMDR over one or two days, the clinic aims to provide a solution for individuals whose other commitments make weekly therapy difficult to maintain.
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process difficult experiences and reduce the lasting emotional impact.
By helping the brain rework distressing memories, it can ease overwhelm, lessen physical stress responses and support people to move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
For some individuals, an intensive format can provide the dedicated time and space needed to make significant therapeutic progress.
The service offers a route to reclaim emotional wellbeing for people recovering from a traumatic experience, managing the effects of prolonged stress, navigating a major life transition or looking for a more time-efficient way to access specialist support.
Sessions are available from the clinic’s Coleshill location, making specialist therapy more accessible to people across Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
Since opening in 2023, Purple House Clinic Birmingham has supported children, young people and adults through a wide range of evidence-based psychological services.
The clinic provides compassionate, personalised care and helps individuals access the support that feels right for them.
Dr Danielle Grey, clinical director and psychologist at Purple House Clinic Birmingham, said: “Taking the first step towards therapy can feel overwhelming, which is why it's so important that people have access to different types of support and can find an approach that genuinely fits.
“For some people, Intensive EMDR can offer an opportunity to engage in focused therapeutic work without the need for weekly appointments. Our priority is always to help individuals find the support that is right for them”.
“At the Purple House Clinic Birmingham, we are passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care and ensuring people feel understood, supported and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
“The introduction of Intensive EMDR is another way we can help more people access effective support and move towards a healthier future.”
