Nominate Solihull charities for £5,000 prize draw
People are urged to nominate a charity working with children and young people for the upcoming Benefact Group’s Movement for Good charity draw.
Solihull Chamber charities who are applying for the draw are:
- Adoption Focus (under the Family Society umbrella)
- St Basils
The Movement for Good is Benefact Group’s annual programme of giving where anyone can get involved in. It is backed by a diverse family of specialist financial services businesses.
They will be donating over £1 million to charities and good causes nominated by holding several special draws throughout the year.
The special draws will award £5000 to 10 charities working in various areas including Children and Young People.
People are encouraged to nominate charities for the draw to increase their chances of being selected, which is done by a random process.
Adoption Focus is one of the leading voluntary adoption agencies in the Midlands and one of the largest in the country. They specialise in adoption and providing a friendly, caring and professional adoption service.
The charity’s vision is to provide every child who needs a new family with adopters who want to parent them with care, love and understanding.
Fundraising manager Robert Mitchell said: “We would be very grateful for any nominations for this special prize draw, which only takes a minute and is completely free.
“The much-needed funds would be used to support our post-adoption work that supports families on the journey to ensuring that the vulnerable child they have adopted reaches its full potential”.
St Basils is both a Charity and a Housing Association with a track record of almost 50 years of providing a holistic range of accommodation and support services to young people aged 16-25 who are homeless, vulnerable or at risk.
Pauline Clark, senior business and communities fundraiser for St Basils said: “Your nomination for St Basils, our youth homelessness charity covering the West Midlands with projects in Solihull, Coventry, Birmingham and more, could help St Basils cover the shortfall for over 500 nights of safety and accommodation for a young person at risk of homelessness.
“The impact of a night of warmth and safety for a young person can never be overstated.”
