Office sterilisation services to combat viruses

A Chamber member has launched its own range of office sterilisation services in response to the pandemic.

Dakro Environmental says its new sterilisation program, which includes disinfection fogging and UV-C sterilisation, looks to harness the advances in sterilisation technology.

UV-C light is a wavelength of ultraviolet light that kills 99.9 per cent of bacteria and viruses in the air and on surfaces by disrupting their DNA and halting replication.

As a method of sanitisation previously only being used in places like hospitals for sterilising medical equipment and treating wastewater, Dakro has decided to use UV-C as part of its office sterilisation services for its high efficacy rate and simplicity.

By looking at the shared touch points and traffic areas within a business, UV-C light has the power to sterilise an environment in just minutes.

This can range from sterilising specific touch points such as door handles and photocopiers, to personal items and entire office spaces.

Director of Dakro, Trevor Field (pictured), said: “The challenge for all businesses now is to ensure that they can provide the hygiene levels that staff and customers expect, yet in a cost efficient and time saving manner.

“It is from this requirement that our range of office sterilisation services was born. Like many businesses during the pandemic we had to think of new ways in which to support our customers. ”
