Partner promotions at Pinsent Masons

Multinational law firm and Chamber patron Pinsent Masons has promoted 19 staff members to partner.

The firm's Birmingham office has promoted Katie Ivens and Carl Scott on their promotions to partner and Rebecca Sulley who has been promoted to legal director. All of the promotions will take effect on 1 May 2021.

Operating within the firm's Financial Services sector, Katie Ivens is a specialist in pensions law.

She advises trustees and employer sponsors of occupational pension schemes, as well as insurers, pension scheme providers and master trusts.

As well as day to day pensions advice, Katie has advised on a number of large transactions such as corporate takeovers, buy-outs, wind-ups and closures to future accrual.

Advising clients in the Real Estate and Financial Services sectors, Carl Scott is head of real estate restructuring and insolvency support for the UK. He also specialises in strategic development and investment transactions in the private health, care home and primary care arenas.

Rebecca Sulley advises clients on all aspects of employment law and is experienced in dealing with bulk Tribunal work and complex Tribunal Claims as well as advising clients on strategic projects. Rebecca is responsible for the leadership of the firm 's TS Paralegal Smart Delivery Hub and is closely involved with developing the team's innovation solution offerings for clients.

Also amongst the promotions is Matthew Kay, head of Vario, the firm's group of professional services, is the third promotion to be made outside of traditional legal services as the firm continues its transition to becoming a professional services business with law at the core. This follows the promotion of Hayley Boxall and David Halliwell last year.

The remaining new partners specialise in the firm's core global sectors; Energy, Financial Services, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Technology, Science & Industry.

The promotions span Pinsent Masons' multinational network, with individuals being made up across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Following this promotion round, the firm's total number of partners is 459, with female representation across the partnership increasing to 28.5 per cent.
