West Midlands Railway (WMR) is advising passengers to check their journey times ahead of the upcoming national timetable change this weekend.

From Sunday 14 December, departure times and frequencies on some routes will change as part of a national twice-yearly timetable update.

This includes an amendment to calling patterns at Duddeston station on the Cross City line.

While the changes will be minor in most locations, customers are urged to check their journey times before travelling.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at WMR, said: “All the new timetables are in online journey planners, so I urge customers to check their travel times before heading to the station.

“While changes to our timetables are relatively minor this year, this timetable change is nationwide and affects other operators who may have more significant changes.”

As part of the timetable change, WMR’s sister brand London Northwestern Railway is introducing brand-new trains onto the Trent Valley Line which connects passengers in Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire to London Euston.

The new fleet – known as Class 730/2s - are longer than the trains they replace and can carry significantly more passengers.

Bringing a better customer experience to those travelling, they offer modern features including smart air conditioning, open gangways and charging points at every seat.

The new timetables are available to view online.
