Past Solihull Chamber president appointed as deputy chair of national law society

A past president of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce has been appointed as deputy chair of the Board of The Law Society of England and Wales.

Eileen Schofield (pictured), principal solicitor and founder of Schofield and Associates was appointed to the role for a three-year term following a competitive selection process.

As part of her role, she will be supporting the future of the legal profession alongside the Law Society’s leadership, staff and Council.

Alongside running Schofield & Associates, Eileen is chair of the Legal Advisory Board at Birmingham City University and continues to dedicate her time to supporting education, business and the wider legal community.

She was also elected to the role of president of Birmingham Law Society in 2014/2015.

Thereafter she was appointed to the position of chair of the Board of Birmingham Law Society, the first female in its then 200-year history.

Eileen said, “I am delighted to be taking this role with the Law Society, and to work with the excellent staff, leadership and Council at the Law Society, and to support the future of the legal profession.”

 Chair of the Board Amerdeep Clarke said: “Eileen has been an exceptional addition to the Board as a Board Director and I have every confidence that she will be an excellent Deputy Chair.

“As a Board we will continue to ensure that the Board will work for the support the future of the legal profession working closely with Solicitors across the country “
