Birmingham Hippodrome has welcomed a new director of people and culture.

Ruth Power is a human resources specialist with more than a decade of experience working across charities and education, covering all aspects of the people profession.

She has been appointed to drive organisational culture, people development and employee engagement at the Hippodrome.

Ruth said: “I 've been an avid theatre goer from a very young age and I am really excited to be part of such an iconic venue in Birmingham. I 'm a firm believer that people are what make an organisation and are a company 's most important asset, so I 'm looking forward to working with all the teams who deliver our vibrant programme of work on and off our stages. ”

Jon Gilchrist, artistic director and chief executive at Birmingham Hippodrome, added: “This new role will play an integral part in driving forward the development of our brilliant teams whilst ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of all we do.

“As the way we work as an organisation continues to change post-covid, the wealth of knowledge Ruth brings will add real value in ensuring the Hippodrome continues to flourish. ”
