Pertemps director recognised for contribution to training and development

A director from Pertemps has been made a Member of the City and Guilds Institute in recognition of his long-standing contribution to training and development of colleagues.

Andy Long has worked at Pertemps for more than 20 years, moving from a sales role to develop the Skills Development Department at Pertemps, overseeing it establish a new dedicated training centre based in Meriden, West Midlands, and managing a business change programme, Creating a Coaching Culture.

Pertemps is one of the UK’s largest independent recruitment specialists, providing temporary, permanent and contract staff across various sectors.

Andy (pictured) said: “The awards recognise tutors and trainers going above and beyond to transform lives through skills and training, and it is humbling to be included in the 2026 cohort.

“The support I have had at Pertemps throughout the years has been outstanding. The business is always looking at new ways to develop our people, and it is that constant innovation and investment that sets us apart from other organisations.”

Andy has spearheaded flagship initiatives, such as Ignite and Creating a Coaching Culture, in recent years, which have redefined how learning is delivered across the group.

The investiture comes less than a year after Pertemps Network Group Chair Carmen Watson was inducted as a Fellow of the City and Guilds of London Institute  the highest honour the world-renowned skills organisation can bestow.
